Welcome!

In this time of unprecedented anxiety and separation, I’d like to offer some worldwide togetherness and help.

The Lansford Family Anvil
My great-grandfather’s anvil

While I’m on lockdown and healthy, I’m opening up my studio via Zoom on Friday, March 20 at 5pm EDT. There will be time for some tech/design Q&A and a bit of camaraderie. I’ll also take requests for brief demos on demand that I’ll do live at my workbench.

So if you’re not thrilled about working in isolation, wondering how to go about something technical, have a design question, are just interested in how we metalsmiths make stuff, or are just looking for a little collective creative oasis in the storm, come on in!

Makers and non-makers welcome!

Warning: My studio may or may not be cleaned up by then, and you’ll likely catch me in my studio-uniform-yoga-pants.

Let’s huddle in my studio…virtually!

When: March 20 from 5:00-6:30pm EDT

If you’ve never used Zoom, it will ask to use/install their app when you click on the link to join. Just click yes or ok to their series of pop-up boxes, and you’ll end up in the virtual meeting room. I promise it is totally safe. Many other professionals and I have reliably used this free platform.

Maybe get there a few minutes early if you’ve never used Zoom. Their app is on the Apple App Store, Google Play, etc. If you click the meeting link, it will take you through downloading the app first.

What to bring: Your fabulous self!
Any device with an internet connection that supports video. Macs/PC, iPad, tablet, iPhone, Android, etc.

Optional: Favorite portable artwork you own or have made
The calming beverage of your choice
Party hat

A calming beverage! Thank to Katie DiGiovanna for capturing this moment a few weeks ago

My Zoom account allows up to 100 people, so this is first come, first served.

If you can’t make it, the meeting will be recorded and uploaded to my site so you can watch it later. If all goes well, and there is demand, I might do more.

It probably won’t look this neat when you get here!
