The Prospera Art Jewelry Collection

Working with metal is magic — a constant cycle of chaos and order as objects that did not exist come into being.

I love creating pieces that are reminiscent of what a Medieval alchemist might have owned: objects of power and insight, designed to illuminate the wearer’s way. I am enthralled by Shakespeare’s The Tempest, especially the production with a gender-flipped Prospera as the duchess and mother of Miranda. I imagine the objects that wildly powerful Prospera might have worn as she consulted her magical texts and wove her ultimate spells.

Each piece in the Prospera Collection is a hand-wrought object of personal power — one of a kind, made entirely by hand, offered so that you might wear it and create your own magic.

Get the Book! – Radiant Echoes: The Metal Mastery of Victoria Lansford

    $65.00

Radiant Echoes: The Metal Mastery of Victoria Lansford showcases the artist’s journey through over three decades of ground-breaking applications of historical metalsmithing techniques. This retrospective publication comprehensively not only explores Lansford’s endless ability with complex metalsmithing techniques including filigree, Eastern repoussé, and granulation, but also speaks to how her skill and vision marry in the creation of objects that filters tradition through a contemporary lens. Simultaneously an artist, alchemist, and shaman, Lansford brings together the familiar with the unexpected through creative work that rethinks the millennia-old practice of turning raw materials into precious objects.

The book features over 150 images of art jewelry, art objects, and large-scale metalwork drawn from across Lansford’s career as well as a comprehensive glossary of her techniques used, offering a unique opportunity for readers to explore the evolution of Lansford’s creativity and craftsmanship. Radiant Echoes will make a fantastic addition to the library of anyone who loves jewelry, sculpture, metalsmithing, or simply contemplating beautiful objects.

Radiant Echoes includes new essays by curators, scholars, and artists including Kate Bonansinga, Cynthia Eid, Rauni Higson, Elyse Zorn Karlin, Victoria Lansford, and Jane Milosch, with consulting editor Emily Zilber.

    Capella

    $875.00

On an uncharacteristically clear and dark night, I saw from my back yard a star I’d not previously noticed directly over my studio. I stared in disbelief because I was seeing what I should not have been able to see without a telescope: a glowing, elongated ellipse, a binary star system. After some investigation, I discovered it was Capella, the brightest star in the constellation of Auriga. It was more than a binary start. Capella is actually a quadruple star system made up of two binary pairs and was the brightest star in our sky 210,000 years ago. As I brought this ring with its glowing, elongated ellipse closer to completion, I thought of Capella’s light reaching my studio from nearly 43 light years away. While I would never be so arrogant as to believe the stars could possibly have any concerns at all about the day to day affairs of us humans, their wonder and beauty endlessly inspire my own creativity.

Chased and stamped, fine silver bezel surrounding a natural Peruvian opal with a wire patterned fused shank of sterling silver. All materials originally formed from stardust.

    1.25″ x .75″ x 1.25″ Fits size 7-3/4 to 8

  • Majestic, Eastern repousse, gold granulation ring by Victoria Lansford; photo by Pat Vasquez-Cunningham

    Majestic, gold granulation ring

    $8,200.00

The form of this gold granulation ring is inspired by the pyramidal rings in the Sutton Hoo hoard found in England. The base is an Eastern repousse pyramid that is forged out of one sheet of sterling silver with no seams. Upon the pyramid are organically formed sections of 18k gold fused granulation that draw the eye upward to the apex of the pyramid, a 22k gold bezel set pyramidal, pink tourmaline, surrounded by 22k gold granules. The 18k gold granulation of the shank echoes the undulating designs of the ring’s top.

The fine silver, Russian filigree is framed by 18k yellow gold to bring out the stone’s color. The bezel’s unique cage and shank are fabricated of sterling silver to reflect light, reduce weight, and add to the laciness of the structure. 1-5/16″ x 1″ x 1″, size 6.5 (This ring can be sized up or down up to one full size.)
