Having Trouble Getting Motivated to Do the Projects on the russian filigree dvd/video?
Need the Structure or Sense of Community that Workshops Provide?
Need a Deadline to Get Yourself to the Bench and Get Some Work Done?
(Yeah, I hate deadlines too, but sometimes they’re the only way I get things done!)
About This Class
Whether you are completely new to Russian Filigree, or you need a refresher in order to take more advanced classes in the future, my new live online time is an add-on support class, tailored to work in conjunction with my Russian Filigree DVD/video.* The session will feature brief demos to answer your questions, give you the sense of classroom community, and provide a little structure to help get you motivated toward completing the video’s 5 filigree projects.
All classes will be held on Zoom. Students will have access to demonstration videos and class recordings for 60 days after the final class. New to Zoom? Watch this video at the top of this page to learn how (and have a good laugh).
How Does It Work?
Classes will meet twice with time before and in between to watch my Russian Filigree DVD/video chapters (Sold Separately) and work on certain projects. Live online time will be devoted to your questions and your progress on your pieces. Class size will be limited to ensure everyone gets feedback.
During our sessions on Zoom, I’ll be taking your questions and giving you feedback on your projects. There will be live demos, but only to answer your questions. These sessions are not substitutes for the project demonstrations on the Russian Filigree DVD/video. The first session will involve questions about making filler and frame wire, issues with building frames in both flattened round wire and square wire, filling the frame, and clean up. We will focus primarily on technical and design issues with Projects 1 and 3. This means you’ll get the most out of this Online Support Time if you have already watched at least the wire making section of the video, Projects 1 & 3, and have begun making Project 1 (the Pendant Project). In the second session we’ll focus on your questions and issues surrounding Projects 3, 4 and 5 to help get your filigree into shape, literally.
Can’t Be There Live? No Problem!
The Live Class Support Time will be recorded so you can watch it whenever works for you. Post your questions ahead of time, and they will be answered during the Live Online Support sessions. You’ll have access to the sessions for 60 days to watch at your convenience.
What Will You Need?
Supplies and equipment for learning Russian filigree and making the DVD/video projects are listed in the accompanying ebook. If you have not received registered your DVD or downloaded your ebook via the link in the bonus material on the Vimeo VOD edition, please register your video or email Victoria at email@example.com. You’ll also need the app Zoom downloaded on your device and an internet connection for attending live.
To prepare for this class, please also make sure you have watched “How (Not) to Take a Class on Zoom” found at https://victorialansford.com/workshops/
Is the Q&A Forum included with the Russian Filigree DVD/video Still Available?
Absolutely! The forum is undergoing some (desperately needed) technological updating, but it’s still active. If you already have the Russian Filigree DVD/video and have questions, you can post them there, and I’ll still answer them. No need to sign up for the Live Online Class Support Time unless you are looking for live support and the structure a workshop environment provides.
*Since many people already have the DVD or my Russian Filigree DVD or Vimeo VOD version, I am offering this option separately as an add on. This Live Online Class Support Time does not include the DVD or the Vimeo VOD version. If you do not already have the DVD or the Vimeo VOD version, you will need to purchase that separately.
The demos in the Russian Filigree video will not be shown or repeated full length during class time, nor will registration for Russian Filigree: Live Online Class Support Time entitle you to access to the Russian Filigree video. Please click the DVD or VOD links to purchase the video separately.
