Learn from the Master Who started the revival
Although I primarily make my living as a professional artist, teaching is a huge love and a significant part of who I am. Seeing a lightbulb go on for someone else is as satisfying as making artwork myself. I’m also passionate about documenting nearly lost processes for art historians, curators, and archaeologists.
It’s hard to believe, but back before I created these videos, there were few places on earth people could learn Russian filigree or Eastern repousse. If you weren’t born into a jeweler family in the Republic of Georgia, Yemen, Egypt, or couldn’t fly to Atlanta to take my classes, this information was largely unavailable. – I had a four-year-old in those days and didn’t travel to teach, and if you flew to Yemen, good luck getting anyone to teach you. One of my all time favorite fan letters was about 10 years ago from a graphic designer in Yemen, who had always wanted to learn metalsmithing but, since he wasn’t born into a family that did it, no one would teach him Russian Filigree or Eastern repousse until he found my videos.
Since I made these processes available to anyone who wants to learn, I’m proud to say that these historical techniques are now part of many teaching studios’ and universities’ programs. I love having made a difference for people who want to learn!!!
If you read all the way to the end of this post, you’re in for a big surprise!

As with my DVDs, you can download and print the companion ebooks that go with each video (ebooks not sold separately). You also have access to the Q&A forums when you need your questions answered. Directions to each of these features are included in the bonus material, available after purchasing each video.
It took ages and a fun case of Apple Magic Mouse inflicted tendinitis, but all three of my ground-breaking videos are available as downloads or for streaming via Vimeo on Demand. You can access my know-how at your leisure anywhere you choose!
I completely remasters all three videos and updated each of the three accompanying ebooks with new sources and information. (The updated ebooks also come with the DVDs if you prefer that technology.)
And the Big SURPRISE!!!
Your purchase of these three videos helps fund my making more instructional videos! Yes, really. There are plans afoot for me to create more videos, including an Eastern Repousse Ring project, Lockets and Amulets, and more…but I have to take time off from other work to make those happen. Alas, as an artist, I don’t get paid time off, so your purchase of my videos, tools, and artwork keep me making more of what you want.
P.S. If you’ve enjoyed learning from Russian Filigree or Eastern Repousse, then consider the wealth of other information I’ve included in Rings. Not only is it packed with all the fabrication and setting techniques not included in the other two videos, Rings is definitely my funniest video to date.
