Radiant Echoes – 2005-2009
Enter the gallery room for highlights of the artwork I created between 2005 and 2009, when the familiar spirals began to get a new twist with increasing dimension in both form and style. These were years of continued experimentation when I pioneered Eastern repoussé cuff bracelets and began measuring filigree wire in miles instead of feet.
This is also the period when I appeared on Home and Garden Television’s show That’s Clever! demonstrating my method of granulation. HGTV’s crew turned my studio into a movie set for a day. I used what I learned from that experience to create my instructional videos, which were completely unique and set a trend for other teachers to produce similar videos in their own areas of expertise. I’m extremely proud that my videos have sold thousands of copies around the world and created a renaissance for the nearly lost techniques of Russian filigree, granulation, chain making, and Eastern repoussé and chasing.
Many of these pieces in this gallery room contain stories that I share here with you as part of my legacy. Sharing the stories behind my artwork is always both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. Opening up about the experiences and inspirations is a vulnerable experience, but it is often through these personal connections that others can relate and find meaning in my art.

Radiant Echoes: The Metal Mastery of Victoria Lansford showcases the artist’s journey through over three decades of ground-breaking applications of historical metalsmithing techniques. This retrospective publication comprehensively not only explores Lansford’s endless ability with complex metalsmithing techniques including filigree, Eastern repoussé, and granulation, but also speaks to how her skill and vision marry in the creation of objects that filters tradition through a contemporary lens.
