Forged, from the Mists of the Mountains

When I was trading skills with my friend Rauni Higson in Wales this past December, the wonderful women from Little Metal Foxes asked me back for Tool Tip Tuesdays, this time to help Rauni give a studio tour. It’s a chance to see her incredible work up close in a relaxed setting.

Entwine VI - A mesmerizing display of Russian filigree expertise in this intricate 3D Filigree jewelry creation

If you’ve always wanted to learn how I createย physics defying filigree,ย this is your last chance for a long while.

In my 3D Filigree course, we leave flat and domed behind and dive into what it takes toย bend filigree to your willย by first designing the complex structures and then adapting how to fill them without all the filler wires popping out.
The only prerequisites for this course are a willingness to try cool things and a basic knowledge of how to do any open-backed, tension fitted type of filigree whether Russian, Yemenite, Mexican, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, or…you get the idea.ย You do not have to have previously studied filigree with only me!ย

As long as you know how to build a frame and make those little twisted and milled filler wires or coils stay in place until you solder them, this class is for you! Unlike the “cram all the learning into a day or a weekend” way most of us have taught for years, I give you space and time to watch and apply what you’ve learned with daily support plus plenty of live Zoom time.ย

Can’t get to your bench for a week?ย

Have to miss a live session?ย

Relax, the demos + real live me are all there waiting for when you have time to catch up.

First live session starts this week, but you’ve still got time to register and watch it later.

This workshop with the included live sessions is not scheduled to repeat in 2025, so get in quick!
