This is a general list of supplies and equipment you’ll need if you’re considering taking this course.

DETAILED SUPPLY LIST FOR YOUR SPECIFIC PROJECT CHOICES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REGISTRATION

Basic metalsmithing studio set-up, including a torch

Eastern repoussé set up (Eastern Repousse Tool Set, Van Aken plasticine, Nachampkin pitch in pitch bowl, chasing hammer, optional heat gun)

Sketching, tracing, and transfer papers and a ballpoint (biro) pen

Access to a Hydraulic Press (we highly recommend Bonny Donn presses)

6×6 inch sheet (or a 3×3 + some smaller pieces) of 60 durometer urethane for pressing

Approximately 2, 4×4 inch sheets of 24 gauge/0.5mm copper or silver, depending on your project choice and design

Precision, custom cut silhouette dies

OR

TO MAKE YOUR OWN  Acrylic silhouette die: Either 2, 3” square cast Acrylic/Perspex (cast not extruded)  for lockets or 4” square cast Acrylic for vessels or boxes, Minimum ¼”/5mm thick. Cast acrylic in these sizes is available from Bonny Doon.

Jeweler’s saw and “Skip Tooth” saw blades (highly recommended!) Or spiral piercing saw blades (the type used to cut hard casting wax)  to cut the Acrylic/Perspex
