Relief in Nature and Nature in Relief
I recently celebrated another trip around the sun with a bit of time off. I know, shocker alert! I’m not one to leave the studio often. Now I’m back in the throes of my 35th anniversary retrospective happening this summer. Stay tuned for more!
If you’ve followed my work for long, you’ll know that June is my favorite time of year. The lush green and long evenings create my absolute happy place. Lately we’ve had a huge family of dragonflies flying by day, a few fireflies in the evenings, and a symphony of tree frogs at night. Even the barred owlets made a brief return to our back yard last week…All part of the benefit of our urban forest.
Speaking of dragon flies and ponds, I’m super excited to share Judi Schwartz’s and Milena Sosa Schmidt’s exquisite, nature inspired cuff bracelets that they created in my Eastern Repoussé II: Rings & Cuff Bracelets course last year.
The biggest thrill for me as an educator is feeling that I have midwifed others’ expansive creative expressions, especially when people use the skills I teach them to achieve more than they might have believed possible.
